Pulse Electronics Power Business Unit has released a new high frequency current sense transformer series. The AEC-Q200 qualified PA1005.XXXQNL series offers a frequency range of 50kHz to 1MHz and a low-profile SMD package with a 5.5mm height.

The new PA1005.XXXQNL series expands on existing Pulse products and offer high reliability for on-board charging and DC/DC or DC/AC power supply applications.

PA1005.XXXQNL Applications

The vehicle AC charging inlet requires an on-board AC/DC charger with power factor correction. The PA1005.XXXQNL current transformer is used in series with the boost switch to sense the current in the inductors at the power factor correction stage.

The PA1005.XXXQNL series is ideally suited for the following applications:

  • On-Board charging application for EV (Electric Vehicle) and HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle)
  • Switching power supplies
  • Feedback control
  • Overload sensing

PA1005.XXXQNL Mechanicals & Schematics

The PA1005.XXXQNL fits in the circuit as follows:

  • Front end current sensing AC/DC or DC/DC circuits
  • Back end current sensing DC/AC circuit.
