Pulse Electronics launches a selection of pure right-angled, through hole reflow (THR) compatible RJ45 connectors in Latch /Tab-Up configuration. The new E5J88- series has a shallow depth from the edge of the PCB of just 15mm and when used with a standard industrial Ethernet transformer – like HX1188NL – also from Pulse, can vie for the same space as a single integrated solution such as JX10/JXR1-0011NL. However, the discrete solutions give a more flexible option when it comes to component placement, as the reverse of the PCB can also be used with PCMCIA magnetics.
The E5J88-4xLHxx-LT (1×1, single port) or the E5J88-4xAHxx-LT (1×2, dual port) are fitted with 2x green/yellow bi-colour LEDs which have been ruggedized to withstand high temperature reflow soldering processes.
These connectors will meet the requirements of CAT5e when used with an approved Pulse 1GbE LAN transformer and support currents up to 1.5A for Power over Ethernet (PoE) if needed.
