Pulse announces a set of new products for the green revolution with the release of three new Dual Gigabit discrete transformer modules. The new components combine 8 transformers and chokes for isolation of Ethernet interfaces supporting 1 Gigabit (1000Base-T) in a tall, 50pin, slimline case, which can save up to 40% of PCB space when compared to original discrete Dual Gigabit designs in the commonly used 48 pin, lower profile design.
These new module’s construction utilises the latest production techniques, including automated winding of the transformer and Choke combination and laser stripping. This brings improved reliability and reduced variance in electrical performance, and with minimal changes to the bill of materials – We can now guarantee to support customers whose applications need increased green credentials for Halogen Free accreditation.
“All three parts match with all major silicon vendors PHYs and are backward compatible with slower 10Base-T and 100Base-TX data rates” stated PM Associate Director Robert Frost, he then went on to say ” Plus, and more importantly, they can support PoE in accordance with IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at to deliver 35W of DC power when using 4 pair Power over Ethernet connectivity at the supply side (PSE) or 15W over 2 pairs, they can also be used to support Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) switches for 8 lines making them ideal for the latest in Industrial control and monitoring applications”.

The HX5020HL can be used as a direct replacement for the standard lead-free commercial part H5020NL and/or the industrial HX5020NL designs operating over the -40oC to +85oC temperature range. The HX6136NL is identical to the HX5020NL design but with an alternative pin out matched to a leading competitors design. While the HX6135HL has the 3Wire choke on the PHY-side for improved EMC performance and matches, fit, form and function for Industrial use against a competitors’ parts in the same package. Visit the Pulse website for the Datasheet H613.A(08/22) to see the Electrical and mechanical specifications and schematics and packing.
Pulse’s product offering continues to expand following the acquisition of Chilisin and their associated brands of Bothhand and MagLayers. These new designs herald the beginning of Pulse’s drive to convert our discrete LAN catalogue product range to halogen free products.
